He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Escher and Marie Escher (Greaser); and his siblings, Phyllis Escher, Beulah Embree, Mary Louise Escher and Mark Escher.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Catherine Escher of Washington, Iowa; his children, Kathleen Cox of Marshalltown, Iowa, Larry Escher (Patty) of Winfield, Iowa, Marlene Rook (Rick) of Marshalltown, Iowa, Marvin Escher of North Liberty, Iowa and Don Escher (Janelle) of Washington, Iowa; and his brother Roger Escher (Mary Jo) of Washington, Iowa.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a general memorial has been established.
