He was predeceased by: his granddaughter Courtney Michelle; his father-in-law Malcolm "Bill" Farmer; his siblings-in-law, Sandy Strahler, Denise Farmer-Clawson, Terry Farmer, Danny Farmer and Billy Farmer; and also Chester Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, April Edwards (Bob), Melissa Strahler, Tommy Strahler (Christina) of Virginia and Chad Strahler of Louisiana; his grandchildren, Cory, Beth, Chasity, Tyler, Tiffany, Skyler, Ciera, Thomas and Katelynn; his siblings, Lorie Johnson (Alan), Rose Bennington (Tom), Ralph Strahler (Buster), Steve Strahler (Peggy) and Delbert Strahler (Debbie); his mother-in-law Helen Farmer Mitchell; his sisters-in-law, Brenda Cordy (Curt), Nancy Pottle (John) and Tina Farmer; and his friend Jamie Creed. He is also survived by his mother; his wife and high school sweetheart, Linda Sue Farmer Strahler, whom he married.
