It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ted Thornton of Washington, Iowa, born in Williamsburg, Iowa, who passed away on October 14, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rolla J. Thornton and Edna Thornton (Barr); and his brothers, Richard, Don and Larry Thornton.
He is survived by: his wife Alberta Thornton of Washington, IA; his stepson Jeff Guenther (Debra) of Ottumwa, IA; his stepgrandchildren, Grady Guenther (Sarah Parker) of Burlington, IA and Hanna Summers (Ryan) of Ottumwa, IA; his stepgreat-grandson Finnegan Guenther; his niece Julie Cardin; and his nephew Michael Thornton. He is also survived by four great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
