He is survived by: his daughter Frances Elizabeth of Canyon County, California; his wife Kay Gates of Washington, Iowa; his daughters, Bonnie Donnolly (Steve) of Piney Flats, Tennessee, Diane Countryman (Dennis) of Fairfield, Iowa and Mary Beth Moravec of Washington, Iowa; his grandchildren, Marcus Elliott, Aubreana Lawrence (Keith), Molly Osibanjo (Oluremi), Austin Countryman (Lindsey Moothart), Mitchell Countryman (Hayley Rankin), Kourtnie Reyes (Angelo), Caitlin Moravec, Samuel Donnolly, Trevor Moravec and Katie Donnolly; his great grandchildren, Adayia, Adamina, Anastasia Elliott, Zendaya, Keith Lawrence, Peyton, Leo, Milo Reyes and Ayomide Osibanjo; his brother Dennis Gates (Lucianna) of Carrollton; and his sisters-in-law, Ida McNeil of Wapello, Jane LaPella of Johnson City and Carolyn Bartenhagen of Wapello. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
