He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Robertson and Grace Robertson; his wife Jean Freshwaters; his son Patrick; and his sister Shirley Wilson.
He is survived by: his children, Katy Green (Russ) of Lexington, Kentucky, Kim (Colleen) of Peoria, Illinois, Nancy Detweiler (Mike) of Keota, Iowa and Sara Hauer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his grandsons, Nathan Green (Karen), Noah Green (Libby Green Messer), Fletcher (Cooper Robertson), Nick Detweiler, Dylan Detweiler (Katie) and Tyler (Savannah Hauer); and his sister Janet Miller (Stan) of St. Louis, Missouri.. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established for the Washington County Enrichment Foundation.
