He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Henningfield and Jewell Henningfield (Miller); his wife Delsena Ellen Kahler; and his siblings, Gene, Howard, Mae Ruble, Darlene Embry and Nancy Scofield.

He is survived by: his children, Craig Henningfield (Sheryl) of Steamboat Springs, CO, Jeff Henningfield (Kim) of Columbus Jct, IA, Diane Grimm (Bill) of Arnold, MO, Mary Hoden (Tom) of Council Bluffs, IA and Steven Henningfield (Lori) of Orlando, FL; and his sisters, Marilyn Henningfield of Shawnee, KS and Sharon Squires of Centerville, IA.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City, IA or Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO.
