We are sad to announce that on March 11, 2023, at the age of 85, Pearl Angela Michaelis of Washington, Iowa, born in Elgin, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Pearly August and Esther Marie Nitz (Frost). She is survived by: her spouse Loring D. Michaelis; her sons, Barry Michaelis (Robin) of Kalona, Peter Michaelis of Schaumburg, IL and Joel Michaelis of Kalona; her grandchildren, Natalie, Adam and Katie; her great grandchildren, Eden, Gunner, Garret, Emberlin, Lily, Jace and Hunter; and her siblings, Donna of Wisconsin, Bonnie of California and Gale of Florida.

A memorial fund has been established for the Kalona Public Library.
