It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maryhelen Gates (Washington, Iowa), born in Burlington, Iowa, who passed away on February 2, 2020, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rilla Faye (Bolding) and Joseph Franklin Creighton; her husband Everett Oreno Gates; and her siblings, Pauline Brumley and John Creighton.
She is survived by: her sons, Ronald Gates (Kay) of Washington, IA and Dennis Gates (Luciana) of Carrollton, TX. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Prairie Flower Baptist Church of Washington in memory of Maryhelen.
