He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Takara and Elizabeth Suh Fominyen; his wife Margaret Luma Fominyen; his son Fon Fominyen; and his sister Judith Fominyen.
He is survived by: his children, Alma Ncho of New Jersey, Everett Fominyen of Omaha, Nebraska, Ninah Fominyen of Coralville, Iowa, Lega Fominyen of Iowa City, Iowa and Muyang "Boni" Fominyen of Iowa City, Iowa; and his brother Edward Fai Fominyen of Cameroon. He is also survived by six grandchildren; one great granddaughter.
