He was predeceased by: his parents, James Costigan and Ora Costigan (Corrigan); his brother Donald Costigan (Joan Costigan); his daughter Linda Costigan; and his grandson Mark Costigan.
He is survived by: his former wife Joan Kuennen; his wife Genevieve Costigan (Kuennen); and his children, Patrick Costigan (JoAnn) of Lawler, IA, David Costigan (Brenda) of Quasqueton, IA, Janette Kriegel (Daryl) of Marengo, IA, Jenifer Mein of Waverly, IA, Sara Klein (Dan) of Quasqueton, IA, Shawn Costigan of Marengo, IA, Brian Costigan (Beth) of Center Point, IA, Karen Ward of Waucoma, IA, Daniel Costigan (Loreta), James Costigan (Lynne) of Flower Mound, TX, Stephanie Grant (David) of Marion, IA, Suzanne Hilleman (Jeff) of Ely, IA and Rebecca Keiper (Terry) of Walford, IA.. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
