He was predeceased by: his parents, John Benjamin and Ovida Louise "Dolly" Combs (Parnell). He is survived by: his siblings, Jerry of Kalona and Jane Adrian (John) of Richland; and his daughter Ashley Owens (Matt) of Kalona. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces and cousins.
It was John's wishes that memorial contributions be designated to the I.S T.A. (Iowa State Trapshooting Association) in his memory.
