He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl R. Wood and Wanda Wood (Murphy); his siblings, Jean Hall (Harold), Joan Sueppel (Leo), Jeanette Bergman (Don), Frank Wood, Jane Johnson, Mary Putman and Mike Wood; and his brother-in-law Relden Jarrard (Kay).
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Wood of Washington, Iowa; his children, Mark Wood (Kim) of Washington, Iowa, Angie Barfield (Russ) of North Port, Florida and Matt Wood (Kelly) of Ainsworth, Iowa; his grandchildren, Elijah Wood, Demi Shetler (Kirby), Emma Wood, Drake Brezina, Samantha Barfield and Alex Barfield (Karissa); his great grandchildren, Jayla Shetler and Landon Barfield; his siblings, Tim Wood (Maria) of Washington, Iowa and Nancy White of Washington, Iowa; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Wood of Washington, Don Jarrard (Marsha) of Charles City, Iowa and Connie Jarrard of Washington, Iowa.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home (116 E Main St, Washington, IA 52353). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
