She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Fritz and Genevieve Fritz (Kurtz); her granddaughter Kiley Crawford; her son-in-law Phil Long; and her sister Sharon Redlinger.
She is survived by: her spouse Merle Bates; her children, Mike Bates (Karen) of Washington, Iowa, Chris Long of Washington, Iowa, Kathy Crawford (Gary) of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Jolisa Pfeifer (George) of Wayland, Iowa and Mary Hora (Andy) of Riverside, Iowa; her brothers, Gary Fritz (Arlene) of Brighton, Iowa and Larry Fritz (Pat) of Washington, Iowa; and her brother-in-law Bob Redlinger of Washington, Iowa.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. James Catholic Church (602 W 2nd St, Washington, IA 52353). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
