Irma Altenhofen Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irma Altenhofen of Washington, Iowa, who passed away on September 25, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence "Doc" Duwa and Agnes Duwa (Bopp); and her siblings, Vera Gingerich, Cleola Schneider, Velma Waldschmidt, Elaine Lee, Dale and Clifford Duwa.

She is survived by: her husband Dennis Altenhofen of Washington; her sons, Nicholas Altenhofen of Long Beach, CA and Dewey Altenhofen (Carmela Garcia) of Carlsbad, CA; her stepgranddaughter Kristen; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Kambria and Kinsley; and her siblings, Lucille Duwa of Hills, Dolores Krotz of Washington, Janet Hagie (Merlin) of Washington and Dean Duwa of Ainsworth.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the Alzheimer's Association and Hospice of Washington County.
