It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Herbert L. Hammen (Washington, Iowa), born in Harper, Iowa, who passed away on April 6, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Hammen and Mamie Hammen (Peiffer); his wife Nadine Klein; his son Stephen; and his siblings, Elenor, Charles, Leonard Hammen, Mary Sieren and Paul Hammen.

He is survived by: his daughters, Anita Seeger (Ken) of Waverly, Iowa and Denise Hammen of Iowa City, Iowa; his granddaughter Andrea Parizek (Bert) of Clutier, Iowa; his brothers, Justin Hammen of Sigourney, Iowa and Harold Hammen (Donna) of North Liberty, Iowa; his sister-in-law Martha Hammen of Washington, Iowa; and his friend Jean Bates of Washington, Iowa..
