With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Black of Washington, Iowa, born in Lamoni, Iowa, who passed away on October 14, 2020 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Dickerson and Helen Dickerson (Rockhold); her husband Orin "Blackie" Black; her stepson Douglas Black; and her siblings, Ruby Liechty, Lois Drayfahl and Carl Kindred.

She is survived by: her stepsons, Denny Black (Laura) of Alpha, Michael Black (Bev) of Washington, Bill Black (Sherry) of Washington, Larry Black of Iowa City, Steve Black (Denise) of Webster, Gary Black (Jackie) of Ankeny, Tom Black (Deb) of Washington and Brad Black (Bonnie) of Sigourney; and her siblings, Norma Stutzman of Buffalo, Kathryn Ahrens of Quincy, Maggie Elliott (Bob) of Iowa City, Bill Kindred (Judy) of McGregor, Paul Dickerson of Muscatine and Gary Dickerson of Quincy, Illinois.. She is also survived by many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
