He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Henry and Olive Jeanette Chalupa (Wallace); his siblings, Lauren, Ferd, Bob, Jane Hensel, Jeanette Banks and Junior; and his children, Cindy Chalupa and Jeff Chalupa.

He is survived by: his wife Joanne Chalupa of Washington; his children, Joe Chalupa of Billings, MT, Connie Banko (Steven) of El Paso, TX and Stephanie Dawson (Jim) of Independence, IA; his daughter-in-law Malou Chalupa of Burlington, IA; and his sister Norma Loeffler of West Liberty, IA. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
