She was predeceased by: her parents, Oakley Payne and Violet Payne (Beranek); her husband Jim; her daughter Jeri; and her sisters, Nadine Harris and Darlene Adams.
She is survived by: her daughters, Janis Powers (Mike) of Pleasant Plain, Iowa and Jamie Hitt (Greg) of Amarillo, Texas; and her grandchildren, James Powers (Erica), Emily Schinstock (Kurt), Michael Powers-Didominicis (Joe), Jen Thurston (Casey), Lydia Houston (Brett), Gregory Hitt (Mollie), Elizabeth Hitt and Preston Hitt. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established for the Wounded Warrior Project.
