He is survived by: his stepson Ben Pennington (Barbara) of Bettendorf, IA; his grandson Jeffrey Pennington of Bettendorf, IA; and his siblings, Jeanette Banks, Norma Loeffler and Harold "Wayne" Chalupa (Joanne) of Washington, Iowa. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
