He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerold Bodkin and Alberta Bodkin; his brothers, Albert Lee and David Lee; his brother-in-law Ron Manning; and his nephew Jakers Bodkin.
He is survived by: his siblings, Jake Bodkin Sr. (Angie) of Washington, IA and Michele Manning of Maquoketa, IA; and his pet Simba. He is also survived by three nephews and four nieces, two great-nephews and three great-nieces.
In Lieu of flowers a general memorial has been established in his name.
