He is survived by: his former wife Sandra Jean Apple; his fiancée Lois Lemley of Washington, Iowa; his brothers, Tom McAvoy (Brenda) of Grandview, Iowa and Ron McAvoy of Iowa City, Iowa; and his sister-in-law Erica Richardson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
