He is survived by: his wife Sherry Conrad of Washington, IA; his children, Abby Foster (Brent) of Riverside, IA and Brad Tornow of Washington, IA; his parents, Herb and Yvonne of South Wayne, WI; his siblings, Barb Tornow (Matt Welter) of Sigourney, IA, Jim Tornow of Sullivan, MO and LaJill Edge (Jeff) of Howards Grove, WI; his father-in-law Mike Conrad of Sigourney, IA; and his sisters-in-law, Tammy Hoover (Jim) of Durant, IA, Debbie Knowler (John) of Sigourney, IA and Sue Andrew (Craig) of Waukee, IA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established for the Student Built House Project at the City of Kalona.
