He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Brinning and Grace Brinning (Anderson); his wife Norma J. Smith; and his siblings, William Brinning and Eleanor Olvey.
He is survived by: his son Larry Brinning (Connie) of Washington, IA; his grandchildren, Benson, Kristen and Alex Ramsey; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Barwick, Harold and Stanley Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
