He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Owens and Dorothy Owens (Knott); his wife Pat; his great grandchild Harlyn Dusty Holtgrewe; and his siblings, Dean, Marlin Owens, Wanita Zieglowsky, Joyce Campbell and Meda Fulton.

He is survived by: his children, Mike Owens (Teresa) of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Lynn Wright (Craig) of Brighton, IA, Kim Hazelett (Jeff) of Washington, IA and Wendy Greiner (Ted) of Keota, IA; and his grandchildren, Stacy Holtgrewe (Jared), Rachel Watters (Chris), Amanda Russell (Tyler), Macy Hallinan (Chris), Brett Wright (Hayley), Tyler Hazelett (Grace Van Patten), Austin Hazelett, Garrett Greiner and Ella Greiner. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

“Daryl was a good story teller, as was his Dad. While growing up he was one of the first adults who I could recognize still had a bit of "kid" left in him.
