He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Buck and Irene Buck (Roth); his son Bob Putney; and his siblings, Francis "Sonny" James, Junior "Sheenie" Buck, Richard Buck, Helen Johnson, Grace Moore, Maxine Jones and Mary Lou Edgar.
He is survived by: his spouses, Yvonne "Bonnie" Putney and Bonnie Buck of Ainsworth, IA; his children, Dick Putney of Des Moines, IA, Don Putney of Streamwood, IL, Steve Putney of Burlington, IA and Lori Havel (Dan) of Ainsworth, IA; and his sister Catherine Kiesey (Dan) of Marion, IA.. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
