He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Cornelius and Maggie Cornelius (Barron); his wife Doris Shadduck; his daughter-in-law Alice Cornelius; his grandson Bradley Wayne Peitzman; his granddaughters-in-law, Donna Cornelius and Peggy Cornelius; and his siblings, Elbert, Jr., Glenn, Lloyd, Mary Morton, Harold, Dale, Lee, Wayne and William.
He is survived by: his children, Dennis Cornelius (Helen) of Sioux Falls, Connie Atwood (Chuck) of Washington, Iowa, Sheryl Peitzman (Lee) of Auburn, Indiana, Gary Cornelius (Karen) of Cumming, Iowa and Forrest Cornelius (Jan) of Cedar Falls, Iowa; his grandchildren, Phil Cornelius, Alison Lounsbery, Marc Atwood, Lesa Roemke, Hilary Martin, Mynette Carlson, Misty Cornelius, Chris Cornelius and Erin Cornelius-Frushour; and his sister Ardra Brodale of Berkeley, California.. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
