It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Cherryl Lynn Richards of Washington, Iowa, born in Columbus City, Iowa, who passed away on July 5, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles L. Mapel and Garna E. Mapel (Laney); and her brother Leon Mapel. She is survived by: her husband Jim; her daughters, Teri Kleese of Washington and Toni Embree of Washington; her grandchildren, Kassi Klinzman, Issak Kleese, Cody Embree of Washington and Cole Embree of Cedar Falls; her great grandchildren, Hannah Klinzman and Amari Griffin; and her brothers, Keith Mapel (Melva) of Arizona and Alan Mapel of Kansas City. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A general memorial has been established.
