She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Thimmesch and Marie Thimmesch (Klegseth); her husband Harry Lee Humiston; and her daughter Peggy McFarland. She is survived by: her sons, James Humiston (Susan) of Wapello and David Humiston (Susan) of Salado, Texas; her son-in-law Rick McFarland of Ottumwa; her grandchildren, Kara McFarland of Ottumwa, Taren Ferguson (Matt) of Ottumwa, Blair Humiston (Aundrea) of Wapello, Staci Humiston of Iowa City, Bryant Humiston of Austin and Erin Warner (Andy) of Austin; her great grandchildren, Lexi, Maya, Jayme, Madison Ferguson of Ottumwa, Jagger Humiston of Wapello, Vivian and Elliott Warner of Austin, Texas; and her siblings, WJ "Tim" Thimmesch of Burlington, Junella Pitchelman of Minneapolis, Steve Thimmesch (Sarah) of Mechanicsville, Virginia and Wendell Thimmesch (Marj) of Mt. Pleasant. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was a voracious reader, donating many books to the Wapello Keck Memorial Library.
