She was predeceased by: her parents, John William and Merna Wykert (Mellinger). She is survived by: her husband Burton Leon Samuels; her children, Jeffrey Samuels of Brandon, Florida and Merna Dowell; her son-in-law Reed Dowell of Wapello; her granddaughters, Amanda Brown (Michael) of Winfield and Cary Peterson (Derrick) of Nevada, Iowa; and her sisters, Sue Carithers and Vicki Hook (Randy). She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
