James Humiston Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Humiston of Wapello, Iowa, who passed away on April 9, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Lee and Mary Ann Humiston (Thimmesch); his sister Peggy McFarland; and his father-in-law Richard "Dick" Tillmann. He is survived by: his wife Susan Tillmann of Wapello; his children, Blair Humiston (Aundrea) of Wapello and Staci Humiston of Iowa City; his grandchildren, Jagger and Colston Humiston; his brother David Humiston (Susan) of Salado, Texas; his brother-in-law Rick McFarland of Ottumwa; his mother-in-law Barbara Tillmann of Columbus Junction; and his sister-in-law Debra Gladish (Gary Carter) of Warrensburg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Wapello (209 Franklin St, Wapello, IA 52653). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Wapello Methodist Church (319 N Main St, Wapello, IA 52653).
