He is survived by: his children, Sharon Fritz (Darwin) of Fremont, Michelle Heckart (Ben) of Danville, Dawn Oliver (Jon) of Martinsburg and Douglas Sorensen. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established for the Wapello Fire and Rescue in Don's name.
