He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald French and Nellie French (Fischer); his wife Pat; his brother Barry J. French; his niece Jodi French; and his nephew Jayson Henkel.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Matthews, Scott French, Barry French (Mindy), Todd French (Wendy) and Amy Burke (Reggie); and his grandchildren, Alex, Lindsey, Jacob, Emily, Colton, Abbey, Dylan, Bari, Marina, Shea, Dru, Hogan, Sadie, Jason, Jerrod and Justin. He is also survived by 27 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Wapello (209 Franklin St, Wapello, IA 52653). The military honors was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Bart will always be remembered for his witty knowledge with his weekly contribution to the Letter to the Editor of the Wapello Republican.
