He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Sr. Adams and Elizabeth Adams (Bohlen); his brothers, Willie and Mike; and his parents-in-law, Norbert and Irma Potthoff.
He is survived by: his children, Andrew and Tori; his wife Deb Adams (Potthoff) of Wall Lake, IA; his grandchildren, Kinley and Grayson; and his siblings, Rick (Pauline), Debbie, Lynette, Linda (John), Nancy, Don Potthoff (Janice), Dave Potthoff (Carlene), Daryl Potthoff (Dawn) and Doug Potthoff (Stephanie). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
