He is survived by: his son Christopher; his wife Betty Brotherton of Wall Lake, IA; his children, Amy Stickrod (Dave) of Glenwood, IA, Bill Brotherton (Deb) of Wall Lake, IA and Chris Brotherton (Carmen) of Lake View, IA; his grandchildren, Carrie Beth Stickrod, Christian Stickrod and John Stickrod; his children, Jessica Miller (Todd), Craig Brotherton (Rachel), Abby Wicks (Weston), Alison Bengford (Tanner), Philip Brotherton (Megan), Morgan Birt (Matt), Madison Drey (Kennedy), Maxwell Blum (Nicole), Amanda Bengford (Taylor), Aaron Brotherton (Rebecca) and Hannah Warnke (Nolan); his great grandchild Sloane Ware; his grandchildren, Malia, Ava, Miles Miller, Brock, Bennett, Maddy, Mara Brotherton, Marcella, Walter, Wilder Wicks, Teagan, Bohden, Crew Bengford, Lennon Brotherton, Aiden, Poppy Birt, Baylor Drey, Sadie, Lanni, Tobin Bengford, Niall Brotherton and Vivian Warnke; his siblings, Ken Brotherton (Joanna) of Pittsford, NY, Kaye Jungk (Bob) of Platte City, MO, Judy Kingfield (Don) of Algona, IA, Janet Olsen (Merritt) of Rochester, MN and Vicki Peyton (Larry) of Sac City, IA; his sister-in-law Betty Roth of Wall Lake, IA; and his daughters, Aya Yaegashi Katahira, Naho Yaegashi Tanimura, Ines Bensic Steiner and Maria Steiner. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charles Brotherton Memorial Fund in care of the family.
