He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Grote and Loretta Grote (Hinners); his wife Marilyn Mae Campbell; his siblings, Mary Ann Meister (Jim), Tony and Leo Grote; his parents-in-law, Bill and Elsie Campbell; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Campbell (Soup) and Roger Campbell.
He is survived by: his siblings, Mike, Walt (Kathy) of Wall Lake and Luella Wilwerding (Bob) of Defiance, IA; and his sisters-in-law, Lois Grote of Wall Lake, IA, Sharon Grote of Fonda, IA, Sharon Richardson of Lake City, IA and Cheryl Campbell of Boyer, IA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Wall Lake American Legion Post No. 262.
