She was predeceased by: her parents, William Wachal and Barbara Wachal (Benesch); her husband Gerold Clifton Hemphill; and her children, Charles (Mary Jo), Robert (Marilyn), Richard (Jean) and Diane.

She is survived by: her siblings, Lucille, Wilma, William and Helen; and her children, Geraldine (Kenneth), Carl, Paul, David and Susan. She is also survived by 110 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
