With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald E. Akers (Walker, Iowa), who passed away on June 1, 2019 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Akers and Alice Akers; his sister Judith Berger; his brother-in-law Dan Chrystal; and his father-in-law Gordon Chrystal.
He is survived by: his wife Pat of Walker; his children, Dawn Lynne Akers of Lynn, Larry Akers (Deanna) of East Providence and Kim Akers (Travor Robinson) of Riverside; his stepchildren, Matthew Voss (Sara) of Walker, Dana Schmidt (Jason) of Coggon and Eric Voss (Amy) of Anamosa; his mother-in-law Ruth Chrystal of Center Point; his siblings, Ronald Akers of Guntersville, Alabama and Dianne Graham (Robert) of Bethel, Alaska; his siblings-in-law, George Berger of South Amana, David Chrystal (Iris) of Centralia, John Chrystal (Janice) of Center Point and Janet Chrystal of Cedar Rapids; and his aunts, Doris Henderson and Betty Price. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephew, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Donald's memory.
