She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira "Tin" Mathes and Ada "Lizzy" Mathes (Nickols); her son Michael James Burke; and her brothers, Timothy Mathes and Stevie Mathes.

She is survived by: her husband Albert Ellithorpe of Walcott; her children, Dorinda Marshall of Matherville, IL and Kyle Ellithorpe of Wilton; and her grandchildren, Tyler Ellithorpe, Lillian Ellithorpe, Eliza Ellithorpe, Miranda Jones, Rex Marshall, Jessica Marshall and Marke Scott Goosby.

A memorial has been established at the funeral home in memory of Leona.
