She was predeceased by: her parents, William Thordsen and Ruth Thordsen (Hunter); her son Allen Nielsen; and her siblings, George Thordsen and Nelda Chaffee.
She is survived by: her former spouses, George Nielsen and Bert McNitt; and her children, Rick Nielsen (Barb), Randy Nielsen, Anna Karleen Gray (Carl) and Phillip Nielsen (Lora). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Wanda has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to the American Legion Auxiliary in Vinton where she proudly served as past-president.
