It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley A. Whitson of Vinton, Iowa, who passed away on May 8, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Shirley A. Whitson to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Cherveny and Albina Cherveny (Novotny); and her siblings, Russell, Edward Cherveny, Arlene Cherveny and Darlene Mikoda.

She is survived by: her sons, Barry Whitson (Terry) of Cedar Rapids and Brett Whitson of Vinton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund has been established.
