She was predeceased by: her parents, Otto Barz and Martha Barz (Daleske); her husband James Parris; her siblings, Ernest Barz (Minnie) and Ruth Balvanz (Robert); her sister-in-law Marilyn Barz; and her nephew Chris Balvanz.
She is survived by: her children, Martha Strong (Brian) of St. Robert, MO, Frank Parris of Newhall, IA, Florence VonKampen (Chad) of Atkins, IA and Michael Parris (Yan) of Riceville, IA; and her brother Rev. Marvin "Bud" Barz of Wichita, KS. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Stephen's Fellowship Hall (303 3rd Ave, Atkins, IA 52206). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Stephen's Lutheran Church (303 3rd Ave, Atkins, IA 52206). A burial was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 12:15 PM at the St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery (303 3rd Ave, Atkins, IA 52206). A reception was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the St. Stephen's Lutheran Church (303 3rd Ave, Atkins, IA 52206).
