He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Geater and Ida Schirm Geater. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ternus of Vinton; his sons, Brent Geater (Barb) of Vinton and Chad Geater (Christine) of Ames; his siblings, Rick Geater (Beth) of Vinton, Martha Long (Jim) of Vinton and Jane Kaiser (Dave) of Dysart; and his grandchildren, Kyra, Dylan, Thomas, Nathan, Madison, Samantha and Monica. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
