He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bergen and Martha Bergen (Martin). He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Cole; his daughter Patricia Pierce (Mike) of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Ashley Schonberg (Brandon Koch) of Washington and Chad Meyer of Cedar Rapids; his brother Dennis of Nicaragua; his nephew Dan of Vinton; and his niece Shawn (Bill) of South Carolina. He is also survived by many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E 6th St, Vinton, IA 52349). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
