We are sad to announce that on November 1, 2020, at the age of 92, Richard William Eldridge of Vinton, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William C. Eldridge and Amber K. Eldridge (Hummel); his son Steven Lee; his siblings, Joe Eldridge and Dorothy Gilroy; his parents-in-law, Carl and Nellie Covington; and his brothers-in-law, Fred DeNeve and Glenn Covington.
He is survived by: his wife Edna Mae; his children, Linda Jans (Ken) of Ely and Dennis Eldridge (Lindley) of Port Aransas, Texas.; his granddaughters, Angela Eldridge (Larry Pledge) of Marion, Amy Cameron (Tammy Buseman) of Marion, Jill Michel (Jim) of North Liberty, Nicole Eldridge of Eldon and Kaleena Eldridge of Rocky Mount; his stepgranddaughters, Jennifer Robinson (Darryl) of Overland Park and Melissa Cotton (Steven) of Bettendorf; his siblings, Robert Eldridge (Lorraine) of Maynard, Donald Eldridge (Nancy) of Raleigh, NC, Margaret Oler (Wayne) of Iowa Falls and Mary Heitz (John) of Marion; and his siblings-in-law, Maurice Gilroy of Seattle, WA, Betty Eldridge of Dubuque, Shirley DeNeve of Van Horne and Nelda Covington of Temple, TX.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dick died after being diagnosed with COVID-19. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made in Richard's name to Vinton Lutheran Home, 1301 2nd Avenue, Vinton or to First Christian Church, 1209 W. 13th Street, Vinton.
