We are sad to announce that on November 6, 2021, at the age of 91, Richard Leroy Abernathey of Vinton, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross Abernathey and Rea Opel Abernathey (Whitening); his wife Jeanette; and his son Ross Allen. He is survived by: his children, Michael Abernathy, Trudy Sattizahn, Betty Henderson and Ron Abernathy; and his sister Karen Scheppler. He is also survived by many grandchildren; great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
