He was predeceased by: his father Leo McAvan; and his brothers, Robert and Dale McAvan. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Kaye Stolzman of Vinton; his stepdaughters, Sarah Conbere (Nicholas) of Canada, Rachelle Roesler of Dubai and Genevieve Beecher (Matthew); his mother Shirley McAvan (Truelsen) of DeWitt; his brother Gary McAvan (Sandy) of Delmar; his sister-in-law Peggy McAvan of DeWitt; and his aunt Phyllis Kaszinski of DeWitt. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
