She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Newton and Eunice Newton (Pearson); and her siblings, Randy Newton, Terry Newton, Susan Frimml, Betsy Hartsen and Dixie Dellamuth.

She is survived by: her former husband Richard Stander; her children, Betty Cayton (Kevin) of Vinton, Robert Stander (Judy) of Vinton, James Stander (Yvonne) of Horse Heads, NY, David Stander (Kathie) of Vinton and Randy Smith (Cheryl) of Center Point; her sister Brenda Meyer (Daryl) of Blairstown; and her siblings-in-law, Judy Newton of California, Janet Newton and Darrel Dellamuth of Blairstown. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the Vinton Lutheran Home, where Marilyn received loving care for the past 10 years.
