He was predeceased by: his parents, William Holst and Helen Holst (Hilton); his brother Warren Holst; and his parents-in-law, Jimmy Doud and Shirley Doud.
He is survived by: his wife Kristin Holst of Vinton; his daughters, Kaitlin Hammel (RJ) of Hiawatha and Molly Gardemann (Denny) of Shellsburg; his grandchildren, Halle, Camden Hammel, Avery and Charlie Gardemann; his sister Suzanne Holst; and his siblings-in-law, Doris Holst, Kevin Doud and Kerry Less (Mike). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for distribution to Benton County 4H and V/S FFA scholarships to students pursuing a career in Agriculture.
