He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Gale and Maxine Bantz (Kelley); his wife Carol Land; his sisters, Shirley Mayhew and Bette Climer; and his uncle John Kelley (Mardene).
He is survived by: his sons, John Bantz (Julie) of Indianola, IA and Joe Bantz (Laura) of Cedar Rapids, IA.; his grandsons, Cameron and Bradyn; his siblings, Bob Bantz (Irene) of East Farmington, WI, Kathy Demulling (David) of Osceola, WI, Carol Larimer (Dale) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Laura Wood (Loren) of Vinton, IA; his brother-in-law Marlyn Mayhew of Vinton; and also, James Land (Doris) of Tennessee, Jeff Land (Patsy) of Tennessee, Donna Biggs of Tennessee, Tammy Land (Thomas Hankins) of Tennessee and Teresa White of Tennessee. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
