He is survived by: his wife Donna Schirm; his sons, Allan Merchant (Teresa) of Vinton, Marc Merchant (Renee Bell) of Vinton, Mike Merchant of Garrison and Scott Merchant (Annette) of Vinton; and his grandchildren, Trisha Bunten (Mitchell), Jessica Dulin (Frankie), Chelsey Merchant (Tyler Travis), Bryce Merchant (Colleen Finch), Nathan Merchant (Jordan), Michaela Merchant (Jason Wood), Sheldon Merchant (Amanda Loya Viera), Christopher Merchant (Caitlyn Manrique) and Jared Merchant (Hanna Gregory). He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
